Workshop on the Main Principles of European Security was conducted

As part of the implementation of Jean Monet’s project «Self-Regulated Studies of Hybrid Threats and European security», on June 20, the workshop «The Main Principles of European Security» was occured at the National University of Ostroh Academy.

The workshop was moderated by Eduard Balashov, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Rector’s Assistant for International Cooperation and Fundraising of NUOA, Manager of the Project «Self-Regulated Studies of Hybrid Threats and European Security».

Among the speakers:

  • Prof. Bruno Ferreira da Costa, University of Beira Interior (Portugal). Topic: «The Role of the Portuguese Academy in the analysis of the russian invasion – from theory to political commentary».
  • Prof. Alla Atamanenko, National University of Ostroh Academy (Ukraine). Topic: «Forced Migration from Ukraine as a Threat to the European and Ukrainian Security».
  • Prof. Anatoliy Khudoliy, National University of Ostroh Academy (Ukraine). Topic: «Russian hybrid war as a factor of instability in Europe».
  • Dr. Nataliia Konopka, National University of Ostroh Academy (Ukraine). Topic: Specialized course «European Security: Main Topics» in Frames of the Jean Monnet Project «Self-Regulated Learning of Hybrid Threats and European Security» at the National University of Ostroh Academy.
  • Ben Hodges (USA), LTG, US Army, Retired; Senior Advisor, «Human Rights First», FBH Geostrat Consulting GmbH (USA/Germany). Topic: «Perspectives of Ukrainian NATO Membership».

During the workshop, the participants –  public administration representatives, military officers, scholars, students – were  able to learn about the basic principles of the European Security system, directions of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the field of security, self-regulated studies of hybrid threats and European security.

The project of the direction Jean Monnet of Erasmus+ program «Self-Regulated Studies of Hybrid Threats and European Security» (101081342 – EuroHybSec – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCН) is aimed at promoting European principles of building a strong and secure order by using new forms and methods of communication and creating a clear vision of the European security system for target audiences.
